Uh, heh heh heh. I could give you a few semi-legitimate reasons why I haven't submitted any drawings recently, reasons like my cousin coming over for a week or my wallet being too empty to pay for college tuition, but those, though true, would just be excuses. I have had plenty of free time despite such lingering duties, so, in truth, I have been extremely lazy, and that's all. I apologize for this, and I will try my best to get out at least a drawing a day from now on.
Now onto the drawings, and there are quite a few:
Self portraits are always good to try out, right? This is what I look like, more or less. It's pretty difficult to find the subtle shadows of the face. I spent absolutely no time on the shirt if you can't tell.
This was a quicky. Can you tell what it is supposed to be? Hint: I live in California.
I think the guitar is one of the few things that would be easier to draw with actual outlines first because of it's odd shape.
This is my first (well technically third, but...mnahh) attempt to draw a very detailed tree in a while, and though this one didn't turn out too good, I really like the way I started it. I tried doing very minute gestural squiggles for the leaves, and that really worked out well. This actually surprisingly does look like a tree from far away (if you want to emulate far away digitally, simply shrink the image you're looking at). Think I've talked about this enough? Me too.
I worked pretty hard on this one. I'm not gonna tell you what it is because I'm hoping you'll get it, really hoping. I can tell you what it's on top of though, a paper towel. See those seemingly random lines all round the white space? They're actually the patterns printed on said paper towel.
I spent a pretty long time on this one. I cheated with the background again for the sake of clarity. It's a stuffed caterpillar if you can't tell. The hardest part was the antenna that's drooping down to the bottom, the one with the shadow on the ground. I had to shade and erase the part behind it several times before it looked different enough to be visible. What was also hard was dealing with the colors. Each of those sphereish shapes was a different color and most of them were the same shade, so I had to make one or two of them darker than the rest to differentiate them.
39 down, 9961 to go.
Well, that was fun. See you next time, which will be tomorrow.
